General

We find it difficult to put labels on things that seem so natural for us. But basically we follow the believe of child-led-learning. Providing a caring, lush environement is what children need to grow up healthy and happy. No curriculum or external pushing needed.
Everyone that is interested in a non-schooling life or is already living one.
We put a focus on 7 to 13 year old children. But all families with all ages are welcome. We are not providing a special program for smaller ones, but they will find enough things to do. As there is teenagers in our families, we are more then happy if your teens come too.
The common language is English. We both do speak some okayish Spanish. Katis first language is German and she speaks a bit Albanian.
The workshop holders will speak English.
It’s our first “worldschool hub” we are organizing. So we have no idea to be honest. But break even of costs is somewhere around 10 families, depending of their size and composition. The booked families will be kept updated.
Single parents, grandparents, co-parents, multi-parents, gay-parents, uncles, aunts, friends, nannys, …. you are all sincerely welcome! Important is that the children have caring adults that are responsible for them.
Unfortunately the terrain is uneven, not wheelchair-friendly, and challenging for those with limited mobility. But we are a neurodiverse-affirming community and warmly welcome anyone with special abilities. If you have specific accessibility needs, please reach out – we’re happy to discuss how we can support you.
We do not accept any discrimination like racism, sexism, abelism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism or others in this spectrum. Also all our experiences are drug free: no phones (besides organizers), low on refined sugars, smokers only in designated areas, no alcohol and no other drugs.
Your family has time outside the gathering to follow needs they might have that we wish not to have on site.
For us pictures are a sensitive topic. So on site only us hosts or an assigned person can take pictures. We ask you to leave your phone in your pocket at all shared times (except for emergencies of course). We will share photos within the Telegram group and only carefully use them after the gathering. (Images showing faces were taken from pexels.com and are royalty-free. All other images may not be used or redistributed.)
That depends on the size of your family and when you book. On the site Prices, you can read about the details. Once you write an email to us, we will send your family trough our price calculation and tell you the total amount.
Yes, a 40% of the total of your family price is what we need from you for booking your space. It is refundable in a sliding scale, depending the date, but we do keep 10% to cover administrative cost.
14 days before the gathering we want you to pay the rest of your fee.
Bank transfer and Bizum.
No, but for exeptions you can talk to us.

Organisation

Please see in Prices: Here.
Please see in Prices: Here. And all that your family needs extra.
But reach out for us, we might be able to help you.
No, we don’t. But once you booked your spot, we send you a list of well trusted accomodations we know and there is also a local Telegram group to find such. We advise you not to use the big booking sites, as the prices vary and the hosts contacted directly usually are more helpful.
We can care about it for you though, charging a small fee.
Yes, there is space for some camper vans and tents. As to limited bathroom and kitchen access those are finite. Prices and options are discussed with the owner of the land directly. We will set you in contact.
This is a small region, with all the benefits and disadvantages that come with it. To protect the privacy of our location we will only tell families that booked where it is exactly. But dont worry, it’s amazing here.
The place is in the Alpujarras, that is the mountain region around Granada. You can come with your own vehicle or go by plane/train to Granada or Malaga and rent a car or come by bus. Shuttles can be organized too. But we advice you to have your own vehicle to discover the area and reach all the workshops.
No, we are sorry, but you can not. The area has a lot of animals already. On the land we use, there live some too. So your pet needs to stay in your accomodation.
Spain is save to travel. The closest by hospital is 30min drive. But there is a centro de salud in the village. The helicopter port for serious injuries isn’t far away.
Children 7 and older can be dropped off for the workshop mornings. Smaller children need to have at least one adult on site responsible for them.
All the other times of the days the parents or caregivers are responsible for their childcare.
If your child is younger then 7 years old, you need to stay with them. We are sorry if this is inconvenient for you. For other moments of the day, like the afternoons we can help you organize a babysitter.
There is a co-working space in town and on site there is a shared livingroom where you can work. But the Wifi on site is slow and we prefer you to be present in the group.
We try our best that it is. But accidents can happen and you need to be privately insured for such cases.
Childcare

Food

There will be vegan and vegetarian options available. All low sugar and mostly orcanic or local. The menus will be childfriendly, so that hopefully always everyone finds something.
Please let us know at least 2 weeks in advance about your allergies. We will get you in direct contact with our chef and we are sure we figure out a way that there is something for you to eat too.
There is a vegetable market every thursday and there are several organic shops, supermarkets, fruterias (for veg and frut) and non-food suppliers. You will find much more then you will expect.
The exact program is subject to short term changes. So it will only be published to families that booked their spot some days before the gathering. The overall topics are creativity, nature and connection. Within these there will be handcrafting, guided play, sports, nature adventure and similar.
Also this can only be announced short term. But there will be music, games and comfortable time together. It will be interesting for children and adults alike.
That is up to you and your family. No one is forced to do anything. Unfortunately we can’t give you any refunds though, in case you stop attending partialy or completely.
Basic communication in English is advised. But other then that, there is space for everyone the way they are. We will find ways to include you. If you need special assistance, let us know.
